Astro Forecast, October 2-7

The theme of this week is new beginnings! Mercury & Venus finally leave the signs that made them station retrograde and begin new storylines in new areas of life for everyone. We're stressed but we're blessed! There is support for our woes this week if you look in the right places. <3

~MONDAY~

We begin the working week with the Moon in the sign that gives her the most strength & honor, Taurus. The Moon in Taurus sends a harsh square to Venus in Leo, reflecting a pull out of our comfort zone and into the limelight. Though the connection between these two heavenly bodies is that of a square, there is a lot of support in this aspect since Venus has rulership over the Moon. Fixed rising sign people (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio) especially are starting the week on a busy note, but a “preferred” kind of busy.

The Moon has a lovelier connection with Mercury in Virgo however. The two bodies connect via trine at the beginning of the week, making for excellent weather to stick to routines, organize detailed things, and be productive in a calm, rational manner.

At 10:03pm PDT the Moon leaves her comfy exaltation and enters Mercury’s airy home, Gemini. Saturn in Pisces is the first planet the Moon makes contact with, spelling a tired/stressed/depressed tone to Monday night, that follows us into Tuesday morning.

~TUESDAY~

The Moon in Gemini starts to separate from her square to Saturn in Pisces for the better half of Tuesday, making us all feel like we’re almost out of the woods. Both bodies are ruled by a planet in an earth sign, so it seems like the events that cause us stress under this weather stem from a place of trying to attain/maintain stability in some way. The signals and directions we get on Tuesday are most likely cut & dry and direct.

The Moon does apply a beautiful trine to the Sun in Libra which calls for many verbal agreements. Our thinking and feeling parts are harmonized and intellectual affairs are in good hands this day.

Mars in Libra conjoins Ketu or the South Node. The South Node is not a visible place in the sky, rather a calculation of where eclipses occur. The South Node is often described as the “tail of the dragon” or “body of the bear” because of the aspect of slowness, stillness, and lethargy is often associated with alignments happening near it. Mars in Libra is also slowed down due to his condition in the sign (Mars is exiled in Libra), and a conjunction to the South Node further emphasizes this slowing-down feeling. Look to the area of life colored by the sign of Libra to see where you might be working hard but to little avail (or at least, what area of life is mentally burning you out right now).

~WEDNESDAY~

The Moon in Gemini separates completely from Saturn and the Sun, and she applies a trine to Mars in Libra. Like I mentioned for Tuesday’s horoscope, Mars is conjunct Ketu (or the South Node), so this alignment is bringing mental support to the events that are mentally exhausting us. This can come in the form of laughter, friendly advice, words of affirmation, or simply technology doing some leg work for us! This trine doesn’t perfect until 9:00pm PDT, reflecting agreements made in the night time.

In other exciting news, Mercury leaves their exaltation today and enters the big party happening in the sign of Libra! Mercury enters Venus’ airy home at 5:08pm PDT. Once the working day is over on the western seaboard, things get a lot more chatty and compliments will fill the air more so than critiques.

Mercury has been in Virgo since AUGUST, so many storylines that started in the summer are being wrapped up and many are heading in a new direction.

Wednesday is a VERY airy day. Many chats. Many thoughts. Many ideas. Intellectuals are having a field day today.

~THURSDAY~

The Moon finds respite in her watery home early in the morning. The Moon enters Cancer at 5:31am PDT, making the western world a bit sleepy or too cozy to get out of bed. Expect to wake up from some nostalgic dreams!

The Moon trines Saturn in Pisces first thing, which is a nice change from their alignment on Tuesday earlier this week. This time, the Moon and Saturn are allies in water signs instead of being in signs that challenge each other’s nature. It is likely there is a lot of wisdom shared today, especially wisdom that is useful when connecting with others authentically. Emotions are flowing and it is likely that we are in our feels about things that are about to start and things that are about to end.

The Moon also squares Mercury, newly in Libra. The last time these two planets shared a connection was a trine on Tuesday and now they are disagreeing! Mercury is challenging the Moon to be more logical and fair, and the Moon is challenging Mercury to take better care of things. You might find squabbles are happening for the first time between Moon-ruled people and Mercury-ruled people. Additionally, this alignment always comes with some sort of news outbreak or messages delivered. Considering the signs of Libra & Cancer, it is likely the news topics are about the law, reproductive care, mothers, newborns, fertility/infertility, actors, singers, diplomacy, and language.

~FRIDAY~

The Moon is cut in half by the Sun’s light in the night sky, indicating stress tests and overall events of an unpreferred nature. Those who have cardinal rising signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will feel the brunt of this alignment the most, but nobody likes it when the celestial mom & dad are in disagreement! Needs of the body are conflicting with pressures we feel in social spaces. Carve out time to eat, don’t take things too personally, and try to find things that excite you at the end of the week!

~SATURDAY~

The Moon reaches the tail end of Cancer and squares Mars in Libra for the better half of Saturday. The real aggravation is felt on Saturday, and it seems we are putting action behind our words (no matter how much fluff we put around our demands). There seems to be a lot of work being done to start something, either in preparation for something new or this work IS the something new.

The Moon enters the Sun’s home, Leo, at 4:25pm PDT. The later half of Saturday offers us extroverted relief in the form of friends, affirmative company, or situations that pull us into the spotlight. No malefics reside at the angles of fixed signs, so you can trust the goodness of this transit won’t be marred by significant challenges.

After the Moon’s initial ingress to Leo, she shares a sextile with Mercury in Libra. These two heavenly bodies are friendly to each other again (after their squabble on Thursday), reflecting compliments on performance, confirmations of prior agreements, neighborly help, and affirmative gestures from others.

~SUNDAY~

The romantic and not-so-romantic storylines of summer 2023 finally come to a close when Venus enters Virgo at 6:10pm PDT this sunday. Venus has been in Leo since early July, went retrograde for weeks, and has slowly been coming back to full speed after stationing direct on September 4th.

Virgo is the place of Venus’ fall, making her nature struggle in a land colored by criticism, a knack for pointing out flaws, inspecting the details, and acting methodically. Virgo is a land where planets are not driven by desire, but are driven to do things out of pure necessity. Venus, planet of love, unions, and friendships struggles in Virgo because she becomes too picky, too obsessed with rules or being right, and looking at the world through a microscope.

To add onto this, Venus also faces an immediate opposition to Saturn in Pisces upon her initial ingress. Saturn’s been waiting patiently to speak to Venus, and Saturn is not entirely pleased (neither is Venus). Sunday brings about failed connections with others, and an imbalance to the areas of life ruled by Venus in our charts. Obviously, this alignment will mean different things for different people, but there is an uncomfy ending to the week that becomes another life event we must overcome! When it comes to astrology just remember, you’ve probably experienced a similar transit at least once before. If you got through it once, you can do it again!
