Wooowee!!!!! This week is a lot. Buckle in. Cardinal & Fixed sign people are extra in the spotlight.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 8th:
Sunday kicks off the week with a stark change in storylines for the whole world, as we experience Venus’ ingress into the sign of Virgo. This is notable for a couple of reasons:
1. Venus has finally left the sign that caused her to station retrograde (Leo), meaning she has been in the sign since June 5th! Storylines about friendships & romance from the summer seem to wrap up their significance by Friday evening.
2. Venus in turn enters the place of her fall. Venus does not particularly enjoy the sign of Virgo and the resources that it comes with, because Virgo is a natural home to criticisms, discrimination, and pruning- all of which conflict with Venus’ essential nature. Venus wishes to connect with others, not pick apart every flaw in a way that seems necessary.
The Moon in Leo squares Jupiter in Taurus, which reflects (fixed sign people especially) us getting help when venturing outside of our comfort zone.
The Moon also makes a cute aspect (sextile) to Mercury in Libra, which aids in affairs dependent on polite communication & mutual understanding.
MONDAY OCTOBER 9th:
The Moon in Leo helps out the Sun in Libra via sextile. This reflects a confidence boost for extroverted ventures, and the ability for jokes to land well among a crowd. We’re reminded of how well we’re actually able to shine today.
Today marks the first full day with Venus in Virgo and she faces a nasty opposition to Saturn in Pisces. Saturn is also retrograde, which makes her more unstable in this alignment. Venus in Virgo opposite Saturn in Pisces is said to “...cause abuse, divorces, inconstancy, and death, often entangling men with the base-born and the lowly, and causing them to fall into harm and lawsuits.” (Valens, Anthology, 21K;19P). In the signs of Virgo & Pisces, we can assume the manifestations of this alignment will show up as a battle: land v.s. sea, written v.s. sung text, art v.s. machines, authentic interactions v.s. transactional interactions. Harsh lessons in love are inevitable. Pay attention to the events developing over the next few days, and what these decisions will ultimately lead to in the coming days/weeks/months.
TUESDAY OCTOBER 10th:
The Moon enters Virgo and conjoins Venus at 8:02am PDT, giving the western world a critically-minded morning to jump start the day. The Moon gains strength in the earthy sign, and offers a soft place for Venus to lean on during the Saturn opposition. This heavy Virgo/Pisces day emphasizes love found in the macro vs the micro. Love found in the colorful sunrises, love found on your mundane commute to work, on the backside of leaves, in the way your loved ones sign their names, in your last minute fashion choices etc.
Lean into the things that make your day sweet, rather than the bitterness that attempts to change the taste of things.
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 11th:
The Moon in Virgo separates from the awkwardness of the Venus/Saturn opposition and moves towards a supportive & grounding trine from Jupiter in Taurus. Reliable company is coming to rescue us halfway through the week, and we feel a relief of tensions (even if momentarily). Jupiter in Taurus is an important factor to consider in general during Venus’ transit through Virgo, because she will lean on him for support too, once she separates from Saturn’s rays. We’ll feel a sneak peak of what that support will feel like this wednesday.
Mars, the war-bringer, leaves the place of his exile and enters Scorpio, where he gains strength in his home sign. Mars in Scorpio will really start to ramp the energy up in the world, since Mars was previously in a slower-moving sign near the south node (a qualifier for low energy). Fixed sign rising people (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio) and Mars-ruled people (Aries, Scorpio) will especially feel this ingress! Look to the houses ruled by Mars in your chart to see how they will become strengthened by this transit over the next few weeks.
THURSDAY OCTOBER 12th:
The Moon is void early in the day before entering Libra at 5:22pm PDT. The new moon approaches within intentions to eclipse the Sun in Libra. Both lights are struggling to connect to their ruler, Venus, as she is positioned averse from the alignment. Additionally, Venus is weakened in the sign of her fall, facing further restrictions due to Saturn’s direct gaze. This eclipse could be in better hands is all I’m going to say <3
Mars in Scorpio sends a harmonious trine to the other malefic in a watery sign, Saturn in Pisces. The last time the malefics harmonized in water signs spelled trouble at sea. Danger where there is water is a prevalent theme for the end of the week. Watch out for misplaced anger through heavy emotional output as well.
Things get chatty & sociable after 5:22pm PDT either way!
FRIDAY OCTOBER 13th:
Anticipation for the eclipse continues to build for most of today. The Moon conjoins Mercury in Libra, issuing many messages & new conversations. Since the ruler of this alignment is averse to the action happening in Libra, its likely these conversations are whispers that are not intended for the *right* person to hear/know about. Sociability continues today!
SATURDAY OCTOBER 14th:
The solar eclipse perfects at 10:54am PDT as the lights conjoin near the south node in the sign of Libra. This eclipse will primarily be felt by cardinal rising people (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) and Venus-ruled people (Libra, Taurus). The eclipse is in the brittle hands of Venus, and driven by a general need to prune what “doesn’t work” especially in the context of personal relationships. The events from this eclipse will continue to unfold into spring of next year, watch out for the domino effect of events rooting themselves in this week of October 2023.
