*Preferably read for your rising sign, but feel free to read for your Sun & Moon signs too! Take what resonates, leave what doesn't. <3
TLDR: This month opens up in terms of partnership & the 1:1 relationships you share with others. A call back to issues regarding pets or your health is likely (re: November 26th), as well as beautiful moments with friends & lovers. This is a sweet month for intimacy if you know where to look, Cancer!
The month begins on a clean slate (or so we think) with Mercury leaving the sign of his exile behind, and entering Saturn’s earthy home of Capricorn. Mercury becomes harsher, colder, and more definite in this cardinal earth sign. Topics associated with Mercury (commerce, language, learning, transportation etc) become more serious and have implications that have a lasting effect. This action occurs in your 7th house. Mercury is bringing speed, conversations, and detail-oriented connection to the house associated with partnership, spouses, mentors, and rivals. Though don’t assume things have their final say this month, as Mercury plans to station retrograde soon and dip back into Sagittarius to deal with unfinished business in your 6th house (illness, pets, physical health).
Venus enters Scorpio on Monday December 4th, bringing social events to the topics of your 5th house house. Litigious, romantic, diplomatic, and friendly affairs are now relevant in the house associated with romance, sex, creativity, and children. Venus is exiled in the sign of Scorpio, making her natural significations come with their share of obstacles or alternative routes.
Additionally, Venus opposes Jupiter in Taurus making for some lovely support in your 11th & 5th houses (the fun houses). Preferable events can be expected on the weekend of December 8th-10th. These events are stabilizing, focused, and “certain” in nature.
The Sagittarius new moon brings you a fresh start in your 6th house on the 12th of December. To reiterate, the 6th house deals with afflictions to the body and domesticated animals. Mars is in close proximity to the new moon, but not as close as the new moon of November! Anxiety, worry, and concern for the future may dwell in the background of this fresh start, though we feel more optimistic about the way we’re handling things this time around. Jupiter, the ruling planet of this new moon, is averse from the event making us feel “on our own” in a sense. There is little help from external forces to sway things to go our way entirely, it’s really best to just say “fuck it we ball” and trust fate on this one! (this is usually the protocol for virtually any sag transit)
December Act 2:
The Sun enters your Capricorn 7th house on December 21st and conjoins Mercury at the same degree in an event known as a Cazimi. Mercury is retrograde during this cazimi, circling us back to events relevant near the 1st of the month. Cazimi’s function to renew Mercury & their significations, often through blurriness & uncertainty until a few days after things have settled (then the REAL clarity kicks in).
Mercury cazimis are akin to opening your eyes to bright sunlight after being in total-near darkness. Things are bright, blurry, disorienting in nature, until they’re not! And then the fear usually dissipates once we’re aware of our surroundings.
Since Mercury rules your 12th & 3rd houses, events will transpire that serve to renew & enlighten topics associated with those houses (12th- alone time, spiritual un-doing, hidden things // 3rd- siblings, early education, your local area). The event occurs in your 7th house however, so topics from the 12th, 3rd, and 7th houses will be intertwined. Luckily, the Moon will be in her exaltation in close relation to Jupiter and will be offering much needed assistance/support to these events. Look towards support coming from your 11th house during this time (looks like necessary group hangs). Stable company is exceptionally helpful during this time!
Mercury continues to trudge on their retrograde journey and dips back into Sagittarius to deal with Mars. The exact date of the conjunction is December 27th, but it’s likely to feel the effects in the days bookending. During Mercury’s entire journey through Sagittarius, they happened to be far away from Mars, except for now! These events are a harsher sequel to the events that transpired around November 26th. Mars brings aggravation, fights, disagreements, and inflammation to Mercury’s much tamer associations of speech, commerce, and data. It's worth noting that the Sag new Moon occurred near these degrees too (20-24°), bringing the events near the recent new moon into question. ALL of this is happening in your 6th house!
2 days after the Mars/Mercury mess, we get a lovely change of pace with Venus entering Sagittarius. Though we can’t ignore the recent events in your 6th House, we can expect sweetness & optimism to infiltrate those situations. If you have natal placements near the early degrees of mutable signs (pisces, gemini, virgo, sag), expect this sweetness to come sooner than later! Venus in Sag is a party girl whose main priority is making everyone in the room laugh. Lean into the fun of it all, even if you happen to be dancing through the smoke of the Mars/Mercury fire.
At the eleventh hour, we experience Jupiter stationing direct on Saturday the 30th. Jupiter in Taurus has been retrograde since September 4th of this year, bringing revisions & uncertainty to the topics your 9th & 6th houses. Having both benefics station direct just before the new year (Mercury follows very soon after) brings much resolve and neat endings to the house topics associated with the 4th (home), 11th (friend groups), 9th (higher ed/travel/worship), 6th (illness/pets). Dream big and envision what you want, the shift into the new calendar year is brimming with hope & opportunity!
