Welcome to my first “mini forecast” brought to you by the haunting guilt of not sticking to deadlines I literally assign to myself! The first few days this week were rocky (not eclipse-level rocky but I’m sure you all have felt it). The Moon has had some less-than-great encounters with Mars & Saturn, reflecting us ALL having harsh encounters with martian & saturnian things. Things develop more this week but don’t expect complete turn-arounds of storylines of your life; things will suck more before they get better, but! things! will! get! better! (they fucking have to don’t they!) :)
Wednesday, October 18th
The Moon travels away from her harsh encounter with Saturn, making time move faster this Wednesday- even if faster means more chaos & noise (maybe making us miss the gift of slowness that Tuesday gave us). The Moon also perfects her square with Venus early on in the morning, reflecting indecision in aesthetic choices with the question: “how much do I need to crank up the cuteness of XYZ to enjoy my time here?”
Wednesday isn’t too eventful and mostly puts things in place to prepare us for the social elements of Thursday.
Thursday October 19th
We begin Thursday on an enlightening and social note! Mercury and the Sun conjoin in the sign of Libra, an event known as a Cazimi. The ruler of this cazimi is Venus, who is currently at a disadvantage in the sign of Virgo. Enlightenment is coming at a cost to us, or at the very least, in ways that make it unclear as to why we need to know certain things. “Criticism” jumps out as a probable descriptor of this Cazimi’s events.
~ Learning time! ~
Cazimi’s occur when a planet moves into the beams of the Sun (from our perspective on Earth, symbolizing fiery new beginnings for the planet being “burned.” Think of it as a cyclical cleansing for a planet! Whatever Mercury represents in your chart, will be undergoing some sort of renewal.
For example: Let's understand the significance of a Mercury Cazimi in 9th House. If 9th House topics include higher education & foreign travel, and Mercury generally symbolizes communication & transactional matters, then this event could indicate: a renewed passport to travel, a breakthrough in learning complex topics, or an opportunity for higher learning abroad unfolding before you.
It’s important to not conflate the word “cleansing” with “magical cool shit that is directly beneficial to my life!!!<333” rather, think of cazimis as events that serve to enlighten our understanding of things. These events can be blurry and unclear to grasp at first, but it is in the days & weeks following cazimis that the enlightening element of the event begins to make sense to us.
~ ok back to fortune telling ~
The Moon in Sagittarius makes a friendly connection to both players of the Cazimi, reflecting support & validation from one area of our lives to another. Look to see what house Sagittarius & Libra lay in your chart to see where the enlightening event is happening and what topics or people are supporting the events of the cazimi!
The Moon leaves the Sag party and enters the land of her exile, Capricorn. The Moon enters Capricorn at 6:55pm PDT, signaling a world-wide sigh of exhaustion. We’re feeling far from home come Thursday evening, and our bodies likely feel like sad pathetic dried up bugs (or something to that effect). The Capricorn Moon does hit different this time around; the Moon’s aspects to only Mars & Saturn (upon her initial ingress), make her besieged.
~ More learning time!~
Besiegement is an assessment of poor planetary condition that occurs when a planet (or luminary such as the Moon) finds themselves between the rays of Saturn & Mars.
In conclusion, the shitty parts of Thursday make us feel “trapped” with unwanted company. The good parts of Thursday offer us wisdom and the chance to emotionally connect in profound ways. Pick your battles that day, this transit is over before you know it! Shrug off the weird vibes and keep it moving.
Friday October 20th
The weather on Friday rewards us with grounding interactions and stabilizing events. The Moon moves from a place of besiegement to a place of bonification in just a few short hours. Bonification works exactly like besiegement, but rather offers good/protected fortune due to a planet traveling within the rays of the benefics: Jupiter & Venus. 1:58pm to 4:30pm PDT (specifically) is a CUTE time to get your shit together, exercise, make a hearty meal, hold grounding conversations with others, and touch grass.
Earth signs are certainly the main character come Friday!
Saturday October 21st
The Moon in Capricorn makes a harsh square to the Sun & Mercury in Libra. This alignment offers us a look into the first developments of the Cazimi. The Moon’s position in Capricorn is challenging to Mercury and the Sun in Libra, reflecting challenges or restrictions in the law, diplomacy, communication, and equilibrium. The Moon in Capricorn is indicative of old or dead things that challenge the socio-intellectual systems of Mercury & the Sun in Libra.
The Moon enters Aquarius at 11:07pm PDT, catching a break from all this shit. Mercury enters Scorpio at 11:49pm PDT, bringing all this shit right back into the fold.
Sunday October 22nd
Mercury and the Moon are important to observe right now. The two celestial bodies have followed each other closely since the Cazimi. Mercury may have changed signs and significations, but we mustn't quickly move on from the past.
The Moon in Aquarius brings about many conversations about the unknown, life after XYZ, and “unspoken” social laws/norms. Mercury in Scorpio also stirs up conversation and will likely encourage conversations about dark or intense topics.
Sunday is a day which is highly focused in nature. If we’re going on tangents, we are committing to those tangents. If we are going to find deodorant at the store, we’re staring at every single bottle to find a specific scent. If we’re driving long distances, we’re intensely focused on the unchanging scenery or crappy weather.
Remember to give yourself breaks and remind yourself that change can in fact be a helpful thing!
